Corinna zu Putlitz took over as Head of Sustainability Management at Körber Technologies six months ago. A doctor in chemistry, she had previously led Strategic Process Development in our business segment. In making the change, she was primarily motivated by an aspiration to contribute to sustainable development and environmental protection: “This is personally very important to me. The new position provided a great opportunity to expand my commitment to environmental protection into my professional life. A broad scientific education and years of experience in the company were essential prerequisites for this role.” The 50-year-old’s enthusiasm for this field has continued to grow in recent months: “The topic of sustainability remains extremely fascinating for me and continues to grow every day. It’s gaining in importance among our customers, and our organisation is steadily expanding its activities in this increasingly business-relevant area.”
This is also reflected in Corinna zu Putlitz’s day-to-day work. She is the central point of contact for all sustainability questions in our business area Technologies and must ensure that all requirements and goals are met our 25 Körber Technologies locations worldwide. “Our production sites are the main focus with regard to emissions, partly due to the number of employees working in them. There is a dedicated sustainability officer at all locations. We hold a meeting every four weeks to strengthen the company’s sustainability network and address current issues,” states zu Putlitz. All sustainability officers report relevant data and developments from their locations once a year. This information is compared against our ambitious sustainability goals to document our progress and adopt any necessary measures as required.
Mother to a daughter, zu Putlitz steps away from numbers and sustainability reporting in her free time but remains connected to nature. Apart from horse riding, she also takes care of a small menagerie, with a dog, cat, horses and guinea pigs. She finds relaxation in her near-natural garden, which she “leaves to its own devices, partly due to time constraints”.
